Role Summary:
The AM is responsible for the effective and profitable management of assigned customer accounts and for business development with the area . Owning the customer relationship, this position is responsible for achieving growth targets, budgets and customer service resolution. Developing and managing strategies for target accounts as well as prospecting new opportunities, you will be able to create and direct your success as an Account Manager in this technical and customer oriented role.
Responsibilities:
Focused on growing & maintaining existing accounts, prospecting new accounts & executing business development strategy.
- Develop and manage strategies for key accounts to increase sales , with external and internal stakeholder input. - Works with current customers to provide value & meet service needs. - Participates in plant visits to gather samples, observe instruments, obtain information, analyzes/interpret results and reports any corrective actions to the customer. - Conducts required training of operating personnel to ensure their understanding of the parameters under which their equipment operates. - Builds upon internal relationships and develops strong relationships with customers. - Partners with peers and management to enhance selling techniques and approaches. - Effectively coordinates relationships and interfaces with Commercial Operations, Technical Marketing, Product Management and other functions. - Documentation of observations of plant visits and contributes final reports intended for an internal audience. - Is able to effectively manage time and budget or expense parameters. Qualifications:
At least 3 years of experience in direct sales or account leadership
- B.S. Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Industrial, or Civil Water Resources), Biology, or Chemistry, OR Bachelors Degree in any discipline plus 4 years experience in the water treatment field OR Engineering Technology diploma (Chemical, Industrial or Water Resources) - Ability and willingness to work in range of physical environments Desired Characteristics:
- Sales/Service Experience within the water & process treatment industry
- Demonstrated sales/people skills and/or aptitude - The candidate must possess solid communication skills (both written and verbal) - Candidate should have a proven sales record or show that he/she has the aptitude to succeed in a technical and relationship driven business - Demonstrated computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint - The candidate must be willing to work independently (after proper training) and be a self-starter - The candidate must be willing to work long hours, at times. Flexibility is a must - Ability and willingness to reside in location of posting - Ability and willingness to travel within territory.
